6th International bonsai exhibition - demo: Sándor Papp

The third of our demonstrators was Sándor Papp. He comes from Budapest, Hungary. Both days he was working on scots pines imported from south France. Elegant trees are he's speciality and therefore he created two very nice trees during this weekend.

6th International bonsai exhibition - demo: Nik Rozman

On Saturday I was one of three demonstrators on the stage. I was working on an urban yamadori. A Taxus baccata from a gas station I dug out about six years ago. I spent a long time preparing this tree, since it took quite a while to make the foliage denser so it could me styled.  My assistant was my good friend Jože Gros.

The old needles removed and the deadwood painted with lime sulphur. Ready to start wiring.

Finished work.

6th International bonsai exhibition

Finally, after two years out bonsai club organized another exhibition in the hotel Mons in Ljubljana, Slovenia. There were 60 trees from Austria, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia exhibited and the level was higher than ever. I could easily compare it with this year's Arco. Sadly there were few visitors.

Here a few glimpses from the event.

I exhibited nine trees this time. Here are the photos.
